Scene of the Week: Action Jackson

One of the most underrated rivalries in action movie history is the rivalry between Detroit police officer, Jericho Jackson (Carl Weathers) and billionaire auto magnate, Peter Dellaplane (Craig T. Nelson) as seen in the 1988 film, Action Jackson.

The bad blood between the two started well before the events of the movie took place. As the story goes, Jackson used used some excessive force in a case involving Dellaplane’s psychotic son that resulted in a demotion and Jericho Jackson being saddled with a desk job.

Now one might think that a cop who more than earned his name Action Jackson, might lose his edge sitting behind a desk… but as this week’s Scene of the Week proves, nothing could be further from the truth as Jericho Jackson springs back into action against one of Peter Dellplane’s hired hitmen, Gamble (Bob Minor).
