Scene of the Week: Horsing Around
Fight scenes are tailor made for a Scene of the Week. I could pretty much watch any two people duke it out. In fact, it doesn’t even have to be two people… or humans for that matter. You can’t tell me that you don’t enjoy seeing some inter species violence. That is exactly what happens in this week’s Scene of the Week… even if it is a one sided affair.
Blazing Saddles is one of the all time comedy classics by one of the all time comedy masters, Mel Brooks. The town of Rock Ridge is not in a good place as the greedy attorney general Hedy Hedley Lamarr has been manipulating the unqualified Governor Le Petomane for personal monetary gain and into appointing a… let’s just say a sheriff that Rock Ridge won’t like. If a town not liking you is not bad enough, Bart the sheriff must also deal with the hulking but dim-witted cowboy named Mongo (played by former NFL All-Pro defensive tackle turned actor Alex Karras). Mongo’s unforgettable entrance, and equine fight, is the subject of this week’s Scene of the Week.
I can’t imagine this being made in this day and age of the PC Generation who are sucking the fun out of life imo
