Scene of the Week: The Sweeper
Before he was working on big budget blockbusters like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Bad Boys II and The Fate of the Furious, Spiro Razatos was cutting his teeth doing stunt coordinating and second unit directing work for the direct to video powerhouse, PM Entertainment. One PM Entertainment release that has Razatos’ fingerprints all over it is 1996’s The Sweeper.
The Sweeper, starring C. Thomas Howell (The Big Fall), features a trilogy of car chase scenes coordinated by Razatos. In my review of The Sweeper, I did my best to describe my favorite of the three car chases. But why read when you can watch!? This week’s Scene of the Week features my favorite car chase scene from The Sweeper and is a great example of why Spiro Razatos is working at such a high level now in the movie industry.
