Scene of the Week: Jailhouse Rock

Is anybody else out there having Alain Moussi withdrawals or is it just me?

Alain Moussi made a helluva first impression on me as Kurt Sloane in 2016’s Kickboxer: Vengeance and I became an instant super fan. Moussi continued to impress me in the 2018 follow up, Kickboxer: Retaliation. But since then I have been waiting… waiting for Moussi’s first non-Kickboxer film, Jiu Jitsu (also starring Nicolas Cage, Frank Grillo, Juju Chan and Tony Jaa) to be released. And what about the final chapter in the Kickboxer reboot trilogy, Kickboxer: Armageddon. Where’s that at?!?!

Until I can get some new Moose action, I think I will go back and rewatch one of the most memorable scenes from the aforementioned Kickboxer: Retaliation. Known as “The Prison Oner”, this single take shot follows Kurt Sloane as he establishes his dominance and displays his fighting skills after unlawfully being thrown into a prison for the murder of Tong Po at the end of Kickboxer: Vengeance.
