Scene of the Week: 100 Proof Excitement
Before Burt Reynolds was bootlegger Bo “Bandit” Darville, he was moonshiner Gator McKlusky… first in 1973’s White Lightning then in the 1976 sequel Gator, which also marked Burt Reynolds’ directorial debut. The Bandit and Gator characters have a lot in common… like their penchant for making members of the law enforcement community look like absolute fools!
In this week’s Scene of the Week we take a look at a Gator McKlusky, a man who by reputation delivers 100 Proof Excitement, as he outruns and outmaneuvers the cops on the water. But the law has an ace up their sleeve in the form of a helicopter… or do they? By the end of the scene I couldn’t help but say “I hope that guy has insurance”…
