Bullet Points: Bring Me the Head of the Machine Gun Woman
Our latest Foreign Film Friday comes from the continent of South America and features one of the sexiest and deadliest killers you’ll see anywhere. A film that owes a great deal to directors like Robert Rodriguez for his low-budget action extravaganzas, Bring Me the Head of The Machine Gun Woman gets several things right but does miss on a couple of areas that should have been expounded on a little more. Either way, it certainly doesn’t get boring and it more than kept my attention.
The Gist: A hapless DJ agrees to find and kill the notorious Machine Gun Woman in order to save his own life from a local mobster who has put a $1 million bounty on the assassins head.
The Cast: Fernanda Urrejola stars as the Machine Gun Woman and struts so hard that I had a permanent squint in my eyes from staring so hard. A pair of high heels, a fur coat, and the type of clothing you’d find in a lingerie magazine should keep any viewers attention for the very short runtime that the film boasts. The scared shitless DJ, Santigo, is played by actor Matías Oviedo. His most impressive feat was bedding the sexy lass but by the end of the film Santigo really starts to grow a pair.
It’s easy to see why Fernanda is one of the bright spots for BMTHOTMGW.
The Villain: Che Longana is the mobster who has a cool million out for the head of the Machine Gun Woman. There aren’t many defining features that make Longana special compared to your average, everyday South American mobster though. He hires mercenaries to do his dirty work, he employs a bunch of worthless henchmen, and when it comes right down to it, he bleeds just like any other man who steps up against the Machine Gun Woman.
These GTA-inspired screens are pretty cool, even though I had no idea how much of a value that was.
The Action: The Machine Gun Woman isn’t flashy. She doesn’t waste time toying with her prey before she offs them but she does have an excellent entrance. A walk that stops people in their tracks and a bevy of weapons that put men in their graves gives her a killer combo that no man can withstand. The MGW isn’t even on screen much throughout the film so most of her scenes are just her killing people and cutting off their heads like the damn Highlander. Another cool thing that the movie pulls off are the Grand Theft Auto inspired scenes with the mission screens and the way it counts up the totals from all of the kills made by MGW and Santigo.
This guy didn’t shoot her…at least with his gun, that is.
Take it Home:
- Cool website bro: The bounty killers website looks just a like a site for an Indy wrestling promotion.
- High Heels: Sexy, stylish, and deadly.
- Not cool: First she blinded him then shot him in the dick. No man deserves that.
- Worst of the worst: A man’s insides get pulled out through his butthole. That is a line I never thought that I would write.
