Scene of the Week: Universal Soldier: The Return

If the 1999 sequel to Universal Soldier did one thing right it was the casting of Michael Jai White as the seemingly indestructible UniSol S.E.T.H. The lackluster sequel, while an official part of the Universal Soldier universe, is no longer canon and the events of the film have been washed away. They can’t take away the memories I have of my main man Jean Claude sharing the screen with Goldberg though. I remember Goldberg tearing his way through the ranks of WCW, going undefeated for a long ass time but even the biggest and baddest pro wrestlers can’t stand toe to toe with the JCVD! Van Damme would get the chance to take on both Goldberg and Michael Jai White and while the fight scenes aren’t among the best in JCVD’s career, it is still pretty cool to watch the three giants of action collide in what would turn out to be an utterly forgettable film.
