Woman Crush Wednesday: Leia
Leia is arguably the most iconic female character in movie history. That is certainly high praise as I spend each and every Wednesday talking about female characters who have rocked my world in one way or another.
The Star Wars film series is one of the most popular and profitable series ever put on film. A simple search online and you can find everything from Star Wars cookie cutters and LEGO Tie fighters to sexy Leia costumes and a Chewbacca dildo (purely speculation). But no matter how hot your girlfriend looks dressed as the enslaved princess, there’s no way she is as hot as Carrie Fisher was back in that early 80’s masterpiece.
Return of the Jedi was my favorite Star Wars film as a kid and I’m not ashamed to say that part of the reason for that was because of that amazing sequence that played out in Jabba’s Palace. Between the sarlaac pit, Jabba’s little rat buddy, Leia’s beautiful body, and finally getting to see Luke go full on Jedi Knight, that opening was absolutely amazing! As I got older I realized that not only was The Empire Strikes Back a better film but also that I was 100% right about how hot Leia was in those days. I guess I’ve always had a good eye for beauty.
It’s now been a few decades since Fisher puked her way into fitting that skimpy little slave bikini and there has yet to be a female character to take her crown for sexiest nerd dream girl. Shows like Friends and The Big Bang Theory still dress their sexy lady characters up like Leia and audiences still lose their shit over it.
It’s no surprise to me then that with such a strong-willed, intelligent, and beautiful woman that even her own twin brother was trying to run game on her. Thankfully for us all she chose Solo over her bro. I can’t imagine what the action figures for their potential off-spring might have looked like. Yikes…
